I was convinced a few days ago that when I realized I’d lost a gold earring that I’d done so in the back yard. I’d been out mowing the grass that day and the temperatures were high. At one point my hair was in my face so I grabbed my hair and twisted it into a knot and tucked it into my shirt in an effort to keep cool. Later, when I got home, I noticed when I went to wash my face that a gold earring was missing. I walked all through the yard, but couldn’t find it anywhere. I figured it was lost for good and since I’d ordered the earrings online, I knew I could get another pair for a reasonable price, but I hated losing things. It put a damper on my day, but I tried not to let it bother me too much. Last night, I was getting ready to vacuum and when I plugged the vacuum cleaner into the wall in the bedroom I saw something sparkle. I leaned down and it was my gold earring. The backing was nowhere to be found, but at least I had the gold earring back. That’s something I never expected to happen, but I’m glad it did.
