This weekend I was out at the beach celebrating my husband’s birthday and I thought I lost a gold earring. These particular earrings were some that my husband had given me for our 10th wedding anniversary and they are very special to me. Sometime during the day I reached up to scratch an itch on my ear and the gold earring was gone. From there I went into a panic and started looking all around for it, but knew that I’d been to so many places that I would probably never find it. Several of the people at the party helped me look for the gold earring, but as I suspected it was nowhere to be found. I ended up taking out the other earring that I was wearing since I knew it looked odd wearing just one. That evening when we got home I told my husband that I had lost the gold earring and was crying about it and telling him how heartbroken I was. He promised to order me a new pair and headed off to the bathroom for a shower. Five minutes passed and he walked out with a gold earring in his hand. I thought it was the one I’d taken off, but instead it was the missing earring. I’d never put it in, but instead left it on the vanity in the bathroom.
